On My Table Side
FAA Project Room on Tuesday opens another interesting student art exhibition. This time it is the Syrian/Palestinian journalist Samara Sallam, who lived in Damascus until 2012 and later, when the war broke out, moved to Algeria to study in the art academy there. Cultural interdisciplinarity are always worth noting. It gives an extra weight to the art.
It is always interesting to engage with people from the Middle East, who with a different artistic referencepoint create a very exciting synthesis between Western and Middle Eastern art practice. Foreign labor is a gift to the Danish cultural life.
If you take a look at Samara Sallam’s website (http://samarasallam.wixsite.com/samarasallam), it is clear that it is going to be an interesting combination of illustrations and photography. This exhibition, however, will focus on installations, modern sculptures and video.
